Introduction

Sports is a very important field in which each one should excel and in India most of the
youth has started playing sports regularly and religiously and most of the players are
involved in cricket as everyone knows that in India cricket is a very important and a very
successful sport. So everyone is going towards that because its a very established and a
highly paid sport as many of the players have established themselves in the field of cricket as
there is not much competition between nations as most of the countries don’t play this
sport and due to this problem Indians have lost interest in other sports like hockey,
football, boxing etc.

Hockey was said to be our national sport and we don’t even watch hockey matches on the
television and the players don’t even get proper response from the citizens as the citizens
are not even familiar to there names and due to this none of the companies take them as their
brand ambassadors and they suffer financially and due to this no player goes towards
hockey or boxing or any other sport other than cricket and due to this India doesn't
get a good position in Olympics and other big international tournaments.

Due to this problem even the government doesn't spend or doesn't provide proper funds
to any other sport and due to this cricket is dominating other sports and the players
who are into other sports don’t get any fame and recognition.

Most of the middle class parents in India doesn't want their children to choose their
future in any sport and wants to send their children to become a doctor or a CA because
they earn a lot and the sports field of India is not at all improving and due to this our
country is not getting any attention in the field of sports.
